RF Safety Solutions offers two types of RF safety training:
On site RF safety training at your facilities
LIVE, Web-Based RF safety training
The reasons for training depend on the organization, the personnel, and
the work environment. Live training is generally considered to be the most
effective—providing that it is taught by somebody who really
knows the subject and can teach it effectively. Consider the number of
"train the trainer" classes that are offered and it is easy to understand why so
many of the instructors are teaching RF safety by rote. One must also
consider the cost of bringing in an instructor to to conduct a course at your
facilities or the cost of sending of sending all of your personnel to a public
class.
The potentially hidden cost is getting the wrong training!
RF Safety Solutions is pleased to announce
RF Safety Training—LIVE, Web-Based Training.
This unique training alternative is available exclusively from RF
Safety Solutions. Both public courses and custom courses are available to
meet a variety of RF safety training requirements. Learn more about
LIVE, Web-Based RF Safety Training.
There are several reasons why a RF Safety Training may be needed.
RF Safety Training is an essential component of any
RF
Safety Program. You cannot implement a safety program without
including training.
Training is indicated whenever you have employees working in an area where
there is significant levels of RF energy or the potential for exposure exists
due to hardware or procedural failures.
Training may be a necessary component in the development of a new service
business.
Training may be required by your insurance carrier and/or it may reduce
your premiums.
RF Safety Solutions provides RF Safety Training that is tailored to meet your
needs based on the work environment and the background level of the students.
Training courses are available to meet a variety of needs including, but not
limited to:
Basic awareness for operators.
Awareness and work procedures for maintenance workers in industrial
environments.
Awareness and work procedures for wireless services personnel.
Awareness and work procedures for radio and TV broadcast personnel.
Overview classes for management, administrators, and environmental health
& safety professionals that includes the development of an RF Safety Program.
Survey training. How to make measurements, conduct surveys, and
document the findings.
Advanced measurement techniques for senior engineers.
RF Safety Solutions provides RF Safety Training that focuses on meeting your
needs.
Tailored to fit the application. The basics may be the same but how the subject is
taught depends on the backgrounds of the students, the work that they are
involved in, and the risks associated with their jobs. We work with you
to obtain this information before the class.
Conducted at your facility to meet your
schedule. No travel time or expenses are involved
for the students, just the actual training time. We often conduct
two or more half-day sessions to minimize the impact on operations.
Incorporates details of your operation. The ideal situation occurs when we have conducted an RF survey and
produced an RF Safety Report. Under
these conditions, we extract information, including pictures, from the report
to bring important points home to the students. Alternately, you can
supply some digital photographs.
Conducted by a recognized industry expert.
Richard Strickland has trained more than two thousand students from hundreds
of organizations. The most important thing is that the training is effective
as can be seen from course evaluations.
The quality of the training and its effectiveness depends on many factors. RF
Safety Solutions understands and
implements all of the following:
Understand the Operation. It is very important to know
who the audience is, what work practices they follow, what risks they face,
and what they need to learn. If you operate a radio or TV broadcast site
your operation and the RF safety concerns are very different than a wireless
services operator. If you process semiconductors, the major
concern should be during and post maintenance operations when leaks most likely occur. RF Safety
Solutions is very familiar with most systems that use significant amounts of
RF energy.
Understand the Audience and the Training
Objectives.Before the training program is
developed, we will work with you to define the audience and
the training objectives. Some important points to consider are:
The type of potential hazards that the students might face.
The amount of control that the students can exercise to mitigate
possible exposure.
The educational and work backgrounds of the students.
Understand What is Important.
Under what conditions could somebody get hurt through a RF overexposure? What
procedures (administrative controls) must be included to prevent this from
happening? What RF hazard control equipment is required and where and when
should it be used? How do we deal with contractors and visitors to RFR
sites? How should we deal with people
that have medical implants with electronic circuitry who may be vulnerable to
RF fields at levels far below the major standards. RF
Safety Solutions' goal is to answer all these questions.
Know the Subject Matter. The most important things that you should look for in an instructor are
knowledge of the subject and the ability to teach the students. A
thorough knowledge of the subject and how the information applies to your
organization helps the students relate the subject matter to their work
environment. When that happens, they learn! See
course evaluations.
