Overview
Much has been written about RF radiation. Even the terminology―RFR,
EME, EMFs, and non-ionizing radiation, to name just a few―has received a great
deal of attention. So what should you expect at this web site?
The goal is to provide an overview that comes from perhaps
a different viewpoint than most others. To this, we hope to add
information that may be difficult to find anywhere else and links to a lot of
other useful sources.
The RF Radiation area of the RF Safety Solutions web site covers
six subjects:
 | Sources of RF Radiation
presents an overview that is may put things in a different perspective. |
 | Health Effects of RF
Radiation presents an overview of the health effects that the
standards are based on and provides links to a number of resources. |
 | RF Standards provides an
overview of the major standards, explains their basis, and how they compare to
each other. |
 | RF Safety Equipment
describes the various types of equipment, helps you decide what equipment you
might need, and what specifications and features to look for. |
 | Measurements covers many
aspects of making RF radiation measurements, including equipment accuracy,
calibration, spatial averaging, and measurement artifacts that result in
measurement errors. |
 | Workplace
Safety focuses on RF safety in the workplace. Each industry and
organization has its own unique RF safety issues.
We expect this area of the Web site to grow substantially over time to cover
many different industries and issues. Check back often for the latest
information. |
 | Medical Devices
provides information on implantable medical devices, such as pacemakers, and
the growing concerns over their possible malfunction in even fairly week
electromagnetic fields. |
Much of this information, especially the information on
safety equipment and measurements, is not readily available anywhere else.
